BIRTH OF THE PORT DE PLAISANCE DU MARIN

It all began in 1985 when the municipality of Marin decided to turn to its natural environment, the sea, creating a marina and a fairing center. For example, in the early 1990s, under the impetus of Mayor Rodolph DESIRE and Frantz JEAN-JOSEPH, the Société Antillaise d’Exploitation de Port de Plaisance was created, which obtained a public service delegation for the management of Port facilities.

A MARINA THAT KEEPS EVOLVING

160 berths and about 20 companies, mostly nautical. Rapidly the frequentation of the marina intensifies. Thus, between the mid-90s and the early 2000s, five pontoons were added, including a pontoon that could accommodate large yachts.

In 2010, a new commercial area of 4500m² was commissioned, marking a turning point in the development of the port infrastructure.

MARINA DU MARIN, A MUST STOP IN THE CARIBBEAN

Today, Marina du Marin is a flagship infrastructure, attracting 55,000 boaters per year and generating 460 direct jobs and 200 indirect jobs.
It is 830 berths and 100 buoys, 78 professionals, which is a team with know-how recognised throughout the Caribbean, offer boaters a welcome 7/7: repair or maintenance of ships.

MORE THAN A MARINA

La Marina du Marin is also a range of services available within the Marina, such as refueling, laundromat, a medical center, the harbor office open every day, or a new generation petrol station (Pumps at the flow, 12,000 l / h, open 7/7), but also a collection of black water and gray water directly on the pontoons.

The area also comes alive regularly to offer to the visitors, as well as locals, musical or cultural animations throughout the year.
